Brush Rolls
Most of the wide face Brush Rolls are manufactured in spiral type, with single or double channel construction in galvanized or stainless steel strips, or in parallel pressed disc type, on shafts owned by the customer or designed by Mill Roll engineering team.
The single-channel spiral is composed of a single metal strip conformed in a “U” shape with a central bonding wire holding the bristles. The double-channel spiral, on the other hand, is composed of a system of two interposed “U” shaped strips, with bristles between them.
The disc-type construction is composed of metal rings with the bristles interlaced on their perimeter and pressed parallel on the shaft. This type of construction allows a 20% higher fill density than the spiral constructions, at a higher manufacturing cost.
The choice of the ideal construction of the Brush Roll varies according to the application, the type of filament, and the desired density.
